California Voting Guide 2024
National and State Offices
President of the USA | Kamala Harris |
U.S. Senate | Adam Schiff |
U.S. House 12th District | Lateefah Simon |
California Senate 7th District | Jesse Arreguin |
Nancy Skinner termed out which is too bad because she was a wonderful Senator. After the primaries there aren't any bad candidates left. I'm going with Arreguin due to his housing policy and endorsement from Skinner.
California Assembly 18th District | Mia Bonta |

Alameda Country DA Recall | Hell No |
Both the recall efforts are headed by the worst, most disengenious 'tough on crime' reactionary players in bay area politics. Like with the SF recall their arguments are mostly outright lies preying on people who don't understand how the CJ system works.
BART Board of Directors District 7 | Victor Flores |
EBMUD Board of Directors Ward 5 | Jim Oddie |
EBRPD Board of Directors Ward 2 | Casey Farmer |

33 | Let Cities Rent Control New & Unbuilt Structures to Keep Supply Low | No |
Rent control can be useful in the short term to prevent displacement if new supply is being built. This proposition is designed to let local cities & towns get out of California forcing them to build housing supply by letting them rent control new and unbuilt structures to make them unprofitable to even start building. Local cities & towns have repeatedly shown they will do anything they can to restrict building new housing and raise housing prices. This is usually a mix of racism and the horrible national policy that makes raising housing prices and exacerbating homelessness one of the only ways for the middle class to build wealth.
34 | Force AIDS Healthcare Foundation to stop being political | No |
This is a narrowly targeted revenge prop that is worded to only target the AIDS Healthcare Foundation which funnels a great deal of its money into political campaigns. AHF is a large landlord in Los Angeles so they are Pro Prop 33. I'd like to see AHF get got, but not like this. This prop is the very worst use of a state prop and it winning would encourage more revenge props.
