A History of Virgitarainism

- The Vault of Heaven
8:30 Uranus
The Virgitarian group began in 2004 as 6 strangers drove in a van together to burning man. Five of these strangers camped together. Ben, Sarah, AJ, Mandy and Kevin became good friends and decided to do it again the next year. We lost track of Liz.

They each invited friends and camp grew to include about 30 people. This time they wanted to get more involved in the art of burning man but needed to get basic needs met first. Ben and Sarah constructed a Yurt while the others took care of accommodating the larger group. We were called Pandora's Yurt. It was a cool, but convoluted, art theme with a righteous shelter that kept us all more comfortable. That was also the year of the Colossal Croquet set, by Kate and Sean which made it into the burning man newsletter YAY!

The next year we decided to take our camp to another level, we adopted the Virgitarian monicker, adding a Quonset hut, Water Bar and The Bella Donna (human powered artmobile). Camp was much more organized and everyone had a blast.
- The Green Man

This year the Virgitarian theme became a central part of camp with a dome, metal sign and stripper cage, organized sheltered kitchen, closer location, powered lights, a zigguraut of blood, and 64 people came. AJ, Matt and Mandy fought in Thunderdome.
- The American Dream
Somewhere... I didn't go
But I heard the camp was down to 30 people and was defined by its simplicity and minimalism. No major projects were done, but there was still coffee and bacon.
- Evolution
5:15 DNA
A small camp with the dome and a pool. Matt and Tilde departed for The D.S.C. full time. Adam and Leora setup the camp, worked on Fishbug, the Gothic Raygun Rocketship and, somehow, their own Kaledescope piece-- all while providing for the Virgitarians comfort and joy and doing a fair amount of partying. The Julians fought in Thunderdome. Kevin brought a hexayurt.
